I don't know if I could help in any way but I have absolutely no problems with the latest update. I barely install/modified anything except installing the kernel-power

When my phone boots and starts showing the desktop I can scroll through my 5 desktops but it looks like the desktop gets redrawn for some reason and everything (shortcuts, ...) from my 5 desktops gets placed in the upper left corner. I can't start x-term with shortcut "ctrl+shift+x" and whatever action I perform, I can't "go back" by clicking the desktop background.

Is it possible to connect my N900 to a Windows PC and open a remote terminal to "do stuff" on the n900, without having to install additional software on my phone?
As of the latest update, when hildon-desktop crashes it gives up on trying to start it, rather than rebooting, without that update, your phone would be in a reboot loop.

You could try sshing in and restoring transitions.ini.

maybe CSSU team should make first instructions before installing CSSU like this....

1.backup
2.reflash
3.restore backup
4.install CSSU
5.done
Fortunately, I can't seem to reproduce this. so, it's probably You side "fault" (device, crap installed, etc). It seems it's not CSSU problem.

@n900 lover
you could check out this pretty old thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=18078
it just says that what we have been seeing is just a "warning" and not really an "error" and you can ignore it if you want. i'm just ignoring it, too lazy to apply the suggested solution.

just to clarify, i've been having that warning long before CSSU 16.

EDIT:
@CSSU Team
just want to report that not everyone's having problems with the CSSU updates.
only troubles i had were the ones with fastsms and CSSU features config. both now ok.

That's what I had in mind, but don't I need to have a server running on my N900? Then I'd have to either start it, or even install it, which I can't. I also don't know an IP, ID or anything because I cannot start X-term
Is there a development kit for the N900 which would let me access it remotely without going through Maemo? I think my old Android phone could be set up to be accessed by Google development kit ...

Latest update and removal of speed patch together with restore of Nokia kernel solved my rebooting issues. After all I think that it was the speed patch that caused problems in the first place, not the CSSU. I did install speed patch day earlier than CSSU. And phone kept rebooting even with the latest update, but right after removal of speed patch and restore of nokia kernel no more reboots.

Many thanks to hard working CSSU Team.

testing modest for some hours now and it seems pretty stable. It was crashing continuously before (since the first cssu iteration)

btw i didn't install anything new while on 16-16.5 on my device....i just got broken symlinks on my root that no one know what is it & how to delete it here.....
