It was a bob dylan video btw.
that's repainting using a back-buffer (that gets dirty and needs to be re-painted)

youtube-dl process must be stuck somehow and not sending any other info ....

I can play a YouTube video fine and Save it.

I click the download icon, and I see an 8.8 mb file on the internal memory card.

But I can't play the saved video. Choosing the Saved list, highlighting the video and clicking Play doesn't result in anything happening.

Same thing for navigating to the file and double-clicking, or using MPlayer: File Open.

Some obvious thing I'm missing?

do you have mplayer installed ? (not the default mplayer, the one from mplayerhq.hu)

what is the path to the storage directory used by mYTube?
do you see the video size in MB for the video you are trying to play
(in case it is saved on the device)?

Here's something weird. When I run mYTube from the menu, I hit the play button and the video will download but it will not play. If I run it from the command line (in order to give iancumihai an error message), it works fine! Ain't that a head-scratcher?

One possible contributor might be that I have the .26 mplayer installed, and I have the two SVN versions "installed" too. I have Bundyo's extended mplayer config file as well.

A feature request: I would like to be able to select an aspect ratio for the video, or perhaps you could run mplayer's "-vf cropdetect" first on the videos to see if they are widescreen instead of 4:3...

By the way, this is a very cool project.

@qole: it would be great if you can add it in the bug tracker. it would help

On a different topic, the themes and some more settings options are on the way.

Can someone tweak a little this theme to make it thumb-friendly?

I'm not sure it's a problem with mytube; my icon that used to start mplayer and display my streaming webcam video now only works from the command line also. The problem is that I installed a couple of new versions of mplayer and then installed mytube before I really noticed this problem, so I don't know what caused the problem.

Anyway this is an interesting problem.
I cannot believe a process cannot be started from python.
If you want i can make a debug version.

Hi !

Thanks for your app, I like it !

Obviously, the following is not a real screenshot, just something I was thinking about :
- gray for files not viewed/downloaded yet
- green for downloaded and/or viewed ones
- blue for files being downloaded
- red for erased files
... or whatever
