Tim, nice idea ... a quick cut of users with their myriad use cases for the N900 - THAT is a good way to promote the many usage potential of the N900 ...
I hope it is edited finally and put together into one nice promo video.

The original post that asked people to contribute to the ourMaemo YouTube experiment is here:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=31737

If you watch the video, click More Info and you will see an email address. Supposedly, if you send a video there, it will appear on the channel. If it doesn't work, just PM me and I'll help you out.

As for editing... That's not really the point of this experiment. I'd just like a number of people to post short quips about what they think of Maemo 5 and the N900 and how they'd use it all. Maybe editing could be reinvestigated later.

Thanks,
Tim

One thing I'd really like is MAME emulation, but I'll be using it for:

multiple messenger services (will MSN and Yahoo messengers be available?),
IRC (is that available?)
skype,
emails,
taking photos (I don't have a "proper" camera),
listening to music/podcasts,
Games/emulation
it'll probably be my main browsing device,
showing off n900 multitasking goodness to Apple zealots...!
Making phone calls. I get 3000 off peak minutes

These are the reasons i will get N900 no matter what
1)My E90 got stolen
2)It has linux maemo with telephony integrated and the way everything is integrated in the device is just gorgeous
3)I will use it as music player, to play and store ALL my music collection. I usee eAAC+ format, 56kbps parametric stereo indistinguishable from FLAC format. I currently have 5.5Gb (2933 music files) with more coming up next as soon as i figure out what is the max resolution of the displayed album art in the music player to embed my aacs with that precisely resolutioned album art
4)Will use it to play video, converted movies, i will create entire collections of movies with embedded subtitles in english optimized for the N900
5)Take pictures, videos, make calls, use it for instant messaging(yahoo messenger and the likes), the multiple calendars is something i wished i had for a long time.
6)Document editing and reading
7)Games
8)Navigation and communication when i am abroad (world clock and wheter very helpfull), for instance this christmas i'm going to italy, i'm from romania, hopefully i will have the N900 by then.
9)And most importantly, and one of the main reason i got sick and tired of the E90 is the limited capability of the web browser.
I have been looking for ages for a mobile device with full browsing capabilities and after some digging i reached the conclusion that the only mobile devices with desktop like browsing capabilities are those that have windows instaled on them, like the OQO. This is not true now with the N900. Fenec looks promising. And besides 1gb of ram on this machine in my opinion is more like 2gb of ram on windows XP, which is a relief, i wont have problems browsing multiple web pages and using mutiple apps
10)I am used to having tons of apps opened at the same time, and i don't like closing them. Even though E90 has 128 ram, it seemed insufficient at time. This will not be the case with N900.
11)I will buy it because it's the only nokia devices with quality autofocus camera qwerty(which is a must for me) and 800x480 pixel screen, even better than on e90, and what's even better, i don't have to "open" the devices to make use of the high resolution screen.
12)The "expired certificate error" drove me batshit with the symbian phones, no more with N900, and toghther with the freenes of the linux platform makes for a quite powerfull combination

And that's about it, can't wait to get it.

It will probably be way too slow, but maybe IEs4Linux could be run on the N900.

If the drivers support packet injection this time it might be powerful enough to be a decent wireless security auditor.
