The Ubuntu Remix installer kept putting it on the SD card by default though, so every time I rebooted the computer it used the old OS on the internal memory instead of the new OS.

It took several pointless reinstalls until I noticed the installer's SD option selected by default instead of the internal memory. They ought to have asked more explicitly where the user wanted their OS installed.

It's not even clear what the options are because they're both a long string of letters with SD/MMC in the middle of one of them. A novice user would probably never have worked out what the problem was.
