Actually, if everything is on one panel, I hope the alphabetize the default list, which will make things that much easier to find. As it stands now, if I don't use MyMenu or Catorize, the menu seems to be randomly generated with the only pattern being that core apps are on the first panel.
An alphabetized menu will be somewhat helpful but every time you install or uninstall an app, it will change the overall menu configuration!

If editing the order is available this may actually be a big step forward with regard to access.

Now we may have our desktops set up so that short-cuts are available to our frequently used programs. The trouble is, if you are on desktop 1 and the shortcut you want is on desktop 3, you have to sail through another desktop first. That is if you remember correctly where it is located.
Many times I end up sailing through them all because I loose orientation regarding relative locations. It may be on the next desktop over but it is the desktop on the left and I went right.

This way, 15 of your most frequently required shortcuts can be configured to the top of the app manager and they will be always just one screen away...
Kind of like having a 5th widget-less desktop now available at the push of a button from all the other desktops.

Anyone else see a change in the application list? Mine actually has them organized as categories now. I don't know if an update installed because my son was playing with the phone.

edit: version number is 3.2010.02-8.002

Nevermind. Found out that my son must have installed catorize.

Why can't they just have a place on the menu togo into edit mode like they do on the homescreens and then you can just drag the menu icons into the order you want or drop them into a folder.

There should be a rule disallowing you the usage of the expression "pretty sure" if you're only hoping!

PR1.2 will fix the phone from being Broken. But it will not make the phone invincible. Be my guess, I doubt that PR1.2 will be here at least until end of March. And there will still be bugs and incomplete OS. I hate it when Nokia does that to a good device. Oh well we will have to wait and see.

I'm saying that the standard apps were listed randomly. I looked at a co-worker's n900 compared to mine with identical firmware versions and the standard applications were in a different order.

Then again, I sent in mine for repair and Nokia stated that it had "corrupt software" on it, so we'll see.
