Gerbick said it far, far best of all.

Just out of interest how is this ‘five step plan’ thing working out so far.

I lost track of it all a while back.

What step are we on now exactly and does it matter?

Has anyone tried uh.. patching.. the binary?

Btw, I still have a valid bought license until Feb 2011. Of course, I can no longer fetch it from the www, or so it seems. Does this make me the last man on Earth with working N810 navicore?

There's always this. Works with Garmin maps, if you can get them.

it could be that the server just needs a reboot as its pinging fine.

also does anyone has the France and Spain maps from this page (2008 version)
It seems services.navicoretech.com is down again. Actually all of navicoretech.com is down. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a solution?

I think mine is still valid until August 2011 for what it's worth.

Is it just me, or did every company involved in the initial software for the n810 just give up on it on the delay of release. I've had farts that have done more for my N810 than Nokia and Wayfinder.

The particular issue with Wayfinder, was that Navicore who initially produced it was bought out by Wayfinder who then gave the maemo port about as much love as a ginger stepchild, and left it to wither. This was made worse when vodafone bought Wayfinder for a stack of cash, then once Nokia and Google had released free navigation products asset stripped Wayfinder and closed them down. Oh, and my wayfinder licence expires in May 2011, but I have not used it much since wayfinder stealthly killed off the traffic updates a couple of years ago.

The whole maemo brand has never been much more than an experiment to Nokia as a whole. Great cool products, and a couple of updates, then Nokia move onto the next device and version and forget when went previous.

I was only using my N810 in the last day or so, as I have not been near power theat much and so the N900 has needed feeding . It's still a very cool piece of hardware, although it does now feel massive in the hands.
