I removed the cache directory....at the moment its stuck at 100% when trying to refresh frinds recent checkin list.

Im now logged in and have try it when i have change.

It still doenst seem to work. I checkedin in last evening, but nothing shows in the history and front page shows checkins, nights out, badges, mayorships and my profile picture. Last checkin @ is empty.

ps. I was trying to update my checkin to Facebook, but it didnt show up

OK, can you close barriosquare and go to an XTerminal and run

Code:
python2.5 /opt/barriosquare/bootstrap.py &> /tmp/barrio.log
Then use barriosquare to do whatever it is you want to do, and then send me the log at /tmp/barrio.log via a private message?

I'll see if there's anything obvious that comes up.

Thanks for your help.

Hello All,

I just wanted to post my error message and see if any of you have found a solution as I am hoping to use this application.

I just installed the PR 1.2 firmware update OTA and after updating, discovered BarrioSquare.

When I attempt to install it from the extras devel, I get the following message:

Unable to install 'barriosquare'
Conflict with application packages: python2.5-qt4-gui (4.7-maemo7)

Now I am not a programmer or that much of an advanced user, so I'm not sure what this error message is telling me. Is it uninstallable on the new version of the firmware?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Joscwy,

Just so you know (because you said you're not an advanced user) extras-devel is the place where apps that are not ready for every day use are developed. So enabling extras-devel means that at any given point things might just up and break - there's no guarantee on the quality of an application in extras-devel and there's no guarantee that an update won't break things

The problem you're seeing is that the barriosquare package is not correctly defining the other packages that it depends on to function. If you _really_ want to try barriosquare, try installing the "PyQt4 Full Install (PR1.2)" package first, and then try installing the barriosquare package.

Cheers,

Scott.

Got barriosquare to work finally. Removed and reinstalled pyqt full and then installed barriosquare. It's awesome! Had to remove it though, coz of a big issue. It randomnly shuts down, but the positioning stays on!! Battery drain right there!!

Apart from that, a small feature request: instead of opening each tab in a different page or screen, can we have it open within the app itself and then have the option to go back to the home screen?

Thanks!!

What network are you on, Pixel8? Can you try via wifi, assuming you are on cellular?

m... BarrioSquare still need dev mode now. you can try Cotchin, the app that i developed with my firend (a N900 user!), it requires less hack (add-on required). Welcome to give it a try~

@scottrNZ - this is VERY interesting. Finally, a good lead on this problem. I also get the Gateway error when trying to log in.

It looks like Orange UK are unable to resolve the DNS for api.foursquare.com (I think). I will PM you the section of the log file. I just tried to change the hostname to use IP addresses, but still no success.
