Don't install them together? Or don't install either at all?

You can't install them. Neither one of them have been ported yet.

Guys, please be careful.

A word of caution... We were told that USB transfer has a critical bug on the N810 prototype that we have. We were told to use wireless transfer (BT) and the miniSD slot to transfer files in and out. While I can see that the firmware version you all have downloaded is slightly higher that what we have on our N810, it might still have the bug.

I just hope, if it the bug is still there, that the USB connection would work well enough that you can all still re-flash your units to the latest firmware when it comes out.

For those who haven't upgraded their N800, my advice is just wait for the final firmware.

The temptation is high to flash today but it would be wise to wait until the real deal comes out.

My understanding is that the bug affects only USB1.1 connection somehow... USB2.0 should be fine?

Ok, I've been reading this all morning and I just cannot resist. I've got the ubuntu cd and it worked so seamlessly that if I had the cable with me here at work I'd be underway.

As it is, I'm headed home to do this thing, hoping that in the intervening hour nothing will happen to deter me. Or, better, would be an 'official' release by Nokia and we can all get on with it! Please?

I couldn't resist.

I'm glad I didn't brick it.

It sure feels sweet!

Now I wonder where all the apps I need are, stuff like Mplayer, Evince, FBreader.. yes I know I'll use the search.

USB bug? Sounds scary

There are some things that aren't really bugs but annoy me anyways. One of them being that when you move files in filemanager you end up to the folder to which you're moving the files to.. why? It's the same with OS 2007 thou so. I make a list of things some day

e. One more thing I wonder, can I use my N95 as a GPS unit for the N800?
