No defense for Steve Jobs reply; that's downright horrible way to treat a customer. "You're holding it wrong..."

Yeah. Stuff people want to hear.
My issue with the iPhone having any shortcoming is that through advertising you'd think it was the most advanced gadget available, which it is not, and it is the pinacle of design and functionality, which again, it would seem it's not...

As other people have opined, Apple should have been forthright and told people about this issue before its release rather than letting people find out about it and pretend its their fault for holding it in what is probably the most stable and comfortable position in my opinion (from its base).

Having a range of bumpers available from launch does make things appear a little more suspect but I could be mistaken.

well then I must apologise if you were only suggesting that no device is perfect. I thought you were suggesting that the "you're holding it wrong" crowd can't talk because they too have a flaw in "their" device.

I think that whole "you're holding it wrong" spiel is perhaps the absolute worst thing I've heard ever from a company that's not named BP. Directly from Steve Jobs, downright inexcusable and truly rude.

To further my Apple rant, they're already telling people what they can and cannot have on a machine they've purchased. Now they're saying "you're holding it wrong"!?

How about I disallow them the ability to hold my money. I'm more pissed about that dismissal than I'd rather allow myself to truly be - just indicative of how some companies just see money and not people. That's nothing new, but confirmation of it still sucks.

Apparently many users have resorted to clear nail polish to fix the antennae problem.

This is what I would be tempted to get anyway:
