I'm thinking, maybe when Maemo6/MeeGo will be released for the N900 everything will be far more optimized therefor giving more FPS.

meego will run with same processor & 3d accelerator... so I wouldn't count on that if I was you....

the biggest problem can be seen at thread topic:
emulator
emulation uses a hell lot of resources. for example dosbox + settlers requires a supercomputer when comparing it being run natively with 386 -series processor.
quake 3 runs smoothly and it is a good indication that there isn't much more to do in os level.
but let's wait and see if we find good configurations for mupen. or more optimized 3d-module etc... only time will tell
e: btw I just got zelda
carina rolling almost smoothly with struttering sounds (plus unwanted graphic effects) only by playing with conf files.
