Firstly I would rename your thread to something useful.
"[Help] Uninstalled icons still in launcher, also unable to remove PrBoom"

You mean that you have uninstalled some applications (such as, Live-f1), Application Manager considers them uninstalled, but you still see the icons of the applications?
Try in X-Terminal, as root,
Code:
apt-get purge live-f1
, and post the output here.

  • install rootsh
  • open an xterminal
  • Code:
     ~ $ root
    Nokia-N900:~# apt-cache search <STRING>
    <package-name> - some description...
    Nokia-N900:~# apt-get purge <package-name>

STRING formul yields live-f1 as package-name

possible alternate title (so that searching only in title of thread returns meaningful result... not that it really matters, whole site is gone in less then two months, but, hell ¦-)))))))

if you mean that the apps got uninstalled and only icons still appears , then it's easy to remove the icons if thats what you need ..
to remove any con from the menu , you need "filebox" , open filebox and go to this dir:
/usr/share/applications/hildon
or you can copy the path and paste it in filebox .. you will see many items ends with ( .desktop ) you can search for the apps that you want to remove then just delete their files and the icons will soon disappear from the menu ..
you have to notice that the name of the file sometimes will be little different from the name that appear on the menu .
