Hi everybody....I am new about the mameo operating system and just baught my N900.I have a big headache In my company everybody has a short number for internal callings(that's for the company numbers) and a long numbers for outside callings.( For example My internal number is 1622).The problem is when somebody is calling me with my short number its shown as unknown number on the screen altough this number is in my adress book..that is only for internal callings...No problem with outside callings. I have talked with my phon operator and they told me they are not supporting this device....

Is there any way to fix this problem?Other way I have to sell this phone(

Thanks for your help.

The post you have is not very clear on the issue. Are you saying that your company has short codes on the company phone system that automatically dials the relevant mobile number?

The N900 picks up the transmitted caller id given by the network. If the company aren't transmitting their number or the carrier isn't forwarding that to the phone then this isn't the N900 at fault, no phone would be able to do this.

Can you clarify your situation please?

Bingo!!! It's your PBX -not the device.

In that case your unit must have an issue as if the network broadcasts the number then the N900 should pick it up. Suggest you take it back to a Nokia service centre under warranty.

I'm not experienced in this stuff, but as far as I understand your problem, I wonder whether you store both versions of numbers for each contact entry or only the long one. I'd understand, that N900 cannot provide the mapping from long to short versions. But, I'd guess, that if you kept both versions for each entry, N900 should recognize the correct caller.

IS the phone showing an incoming number or 'Unknown' or 'Annonymous' caller id on the incoming call. If the number isn't in the contacts list then the actually supplied caller id should be displayed. If it isn't showing a number then it isn't being supplied to the phone.
