BTW, while reinstalling "nokiamessaging", something caught my eye:

tting up nokiamessaging (1.6.8+0m5) ...
DBUS uuid found

Sadly, reinstalling every package with "dbus" in name doesn't help......

Finally found something, that might point in the right direction. One of the error messages digged up from mission-control extended logs:

messaging_ui_account_utils_ready_cb: Couldn't init account...

The above is quite possible. Tracker-indexer might go mental, because it encounters damaged filesystem. I recommend following wiki entry "updating the firmware" (reflashing).

It's worth to mention, that - with almost 100% probability - it must be something on /dev/mmcblk0p2 (home, opt) damaged, not a...

No, there is no way to write arbitrary things to battery gauge chip. But, in your case, setting sysfs entry to ignore so-called design capacity could help. Check BME replacement thread for exact path...

N900 uses normal sim, not the "mini" one. Brackets should help with both micr-sim and mini-sim users. Contacts are the same.

Copernicus, maybe taking over maintainership of the abandoned omweather would be a good solution? From all the programs, it still works, and would require only few minor bugfixes to be "perfect"......
