You seem to be using XBMC wrong. You need to tell it what kind of media you have in different directories, and then let it scan your media, extracting meta-data it can (e.g. ID3 etc.) and...

Yes, the 'normal' (X11 for desktops) Linux UI for Skype is in Qt.
But, have you ever seen that UI on Maemo? Guess not ...

Not just contract, but network infrastructure. In South Africa, 42Mbps towers are all over, but AFAIK the highest speedtest.net download rate on any of these was still under 7.2Mbps.
