Re: The N800 has a 3D accelerator, right?

Apologies if I missed the obvious here, but does this driver enable Jazelle, or just 3D acceleration?

Re: GVM + external card is full of win!

To run things from the card, you should put them in the /Palm/Launcher folder. When you are in the launcher, change the category to "Slot 1" and you will see them there!

GVM + external card is full of win!

I am starting a new thread because the solution got buried pretty deep in the other thread (which was mostly all about "no, you can't do it"). If you haven't seen it yet, read...

Re: Open source vs confidential products

There once was this project, you may have heard of it, called Linux. They somehow figured out how to do this.

We have some massively successful OSS projects out there, with a process that is...

Re: VMWare on N800: Windows CE and Android Running

Good grief no. Commercial is fine! I'd prefer support + a product lifespan instead of abandonment ("I'm busy with my real job") and platitudes ("At least it's free!").

If you want developers to...

Re: Maemo 5 Reveals its Features

You don't think mobile Internet includes email? It would be nice if Modest were fixed, so it could work as advertised. Oh yeah here on the box it says "Internet calling with web camera..." Cool! ...

Re: "Fixed in Fremantle"

Apple supports their OS on their hardware for quite a long time, you know. Leopard works on old PPC Macs from around 2002 (and can be hacked on to older ones). I don't know what kinda shaft you're...

Re: "Fixed in Fremantle"

Yeah, I kinda thought open source would be more... you know... open.

(Here's where someone points me to the unusable Fremantle source...)

I was intrigued by the Mer reference the other day......

Re: Did you say PIM? Come here please

This is really cooking now. Great to see everyone's input!

Would I offend many by saying that I hope these core solutions aren't going to be done in Python? it seems like Python apps are 1)...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Erminig: Google-Calendar <-> GPE Calendar two-way synchronization

I posted a bug already... the GTK window does look better... but doesn't allow copy and paste of text because it's not editable. It won't bring up the keyboard.

I've tried syncing probably about...

Re: Calendar suggestions

This is a perpetual issue. GPE has the most uses, because it sucks a tiny bit less than the others. mCalendar is cute.

And you can expect Erminig to keep mysteriously breaking on your data.

Re: Seamless Software Upgrade v4.2008.36-5 is out!

This isn't the hint you're looking for, but try Privoxy instead. I find it much more lightweight.

Re: iPod Let's Rock Event - UPdates to nano and touch

The thing developers need to remember is that users aren't dumb, they just have better things to do. I've been using Linux since about 93 IIRC and sometimes I just wanna give it all up, it can be a...

I just tried out something much simpler: installing in deblet. It's chrooted already, so I could keep the systems separate.

I just finished testing this basic sample:...

How about this:

immediately after the existing...

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

I suspect backups are recognized by the folder name. Make sure your folder is called "backups" (all lower case + plural). Each backup should be in a subfolder under that.

Re: Access Releases Garnet VM Beta 2

In my opinion, the least they should do is port these simple apps over to the tablets. To me, NOT doing so is a waste of resources.

What they COULD do is have an improved one on the tablet that...

Re: Anyone manage to get iSilo working?

Let me answer a few here, to my knowledge...

No, there's no way right now to boost things past 64MB, we're all pulling for them to make a virtual SD card so you can get at the big files...

And...
