As was stated previously, not having the mp-fremantle-pr package only matters to firmware update notifications in HAM. You can still apt-get dist-upgrade. Somehow on 1.0 I did something to lose the...

A little praise, for once!
I haven't had much luck with the N900's GPS performance when network assistance wasn't available. Without assistance, GPS locks would take 5 or 10 minutes, if they ever happened. Until yesterday.

And yes, when you roam on at&t, you are using T-Mobile's Internet service. at&t (or other roaming carrier) only...

I like Martin Fields. It's hard, and thus relatively easy to apply and highly durable, yet doesn't impact the sensitivity (at least on my 5800, my N900 screen protector won't get here until tomorrow)...

N900 follows the server's codec choice. I have mine set to g729,ulaw,gsm on the server side and in practice the choice is g729.
That's not to diminish the usefulness of forcing a different codec...

I have it 'working,' but it slows down the device a lot when it's downloading. :(
It burns about 50% CPU when downloading, so it's not really feasible to use it for much unless you have a power...

Technically it is, but by the standard of multitasking we've used for 20 years now, it multitasks. Even multi-core computers multitask, since there are almost always more than even 8 processes...
