Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

YES! I advocate this position so strongly, I'm actually trying to set up my own copy of Mer on my own tablet right now. Not that I've ever done anything like that before, or have any confidence...

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

Do it today.

I hate to say it (as I wanted a Jolla tablet too), but Jolla is in a terrible position right now. It has (temporarily for now!) gone bankrupt, it has failed to meet its commitments...

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

Burden of proof is on you for this one. The very last update, folks are complaining about how the tablet got updates without any real amount of tablets out there and the phones were ignored.

Which...

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

I'm sure Jolla will try to get some tablet vendors to produce tablets with Sailfish OS. It remains to be seen how long it takes.

And if we are very lucky they announce this week a tablet vendor...

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

No, there's a couple fixes and updates for the tablet. For some reason . . .

e.g.

Not that it's gonna make the tablet finally appear, but both tablet users are gonna love this.

As I mentioned: damend if you do, damned if you don't.

Including Nokia's proprietary bits they didn't have access to in the first place? :)

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

No, it's the resources that decide. All of those things that you listed are expensive and/or labour intensive. Nokia had a huge horde of developers, and near bottomless pockets. You just can't expect...

Another thing worth mentioning is that it was really the only way startup can function. Take the money, make a bet and try to make most out of it in order to advance enough to get another round of...

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

I fully agree and have similar thoughts.

For quite a while I am wondering why Intel has so little interest in Jolla (other than providing a chip-set for hopefully less the usual cost). Jolla made...

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

I sent a report to Jolla care one month ago. They told me to hold on due to some problems (that are obvious nowadays) today they answered me to send the phone back to repair.

I hope this means...

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

Someone created a spreadsheet based on time and date of order, it was useful until it got lost in the middle of this thread.

I still want the tablet and probably won't push for refund. I hope Jolla or Sailfish will survive. Donut care big noses leaving.

It's rumoured a high spec Tizen device will be released in Europe next year.

Samsung are also working on Tizen for the Raspberry Pi (http://blogs.s-osg.org/tizen-on-rpi2/)

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

That's indeed very bad news. Seems like nobody is able to fight the big players. Sad world. Are there really so few people which are willing to look beyond their own noses.
