IF you try to connect to skype and google talk, behind a proxy lan, it won't work also. Just as the guy said, only works browser and mail.

so guys vote for that bug to be fixed.

There's even copy/paste code available for how to retrieve the proxy settings from the system, so it's just application developers being lazy or just not aware of proxies.

well from a user point of view its hard to believe that everything is fine. i mean something is not right with maemo when it comes to network proxy. because like i said no one 3rd party application...

Sounds like something is eating your CPU or RAM up. Just as an example, for me, typing at the desktop screen instantly brings up matching contacts, whereas you report 5 seconds. Definitely less than...

I must admit I haven't been experimenting all that much, but in my case the major killer seems to be 3G. With 3G on, my N900 runs dry pretty quickly. Wifi seems to depend on the power setting. ...

cd /var/lib/dpkg/info
edit the file simplenotewidget.postrm
comment out the line set -e (ie put a hash in front of it)
save the file
remove as normal.

wow, yes.. umm if you were able to "touch scroll" with the scrollbars globally, they'd have to be wider. Just wide enough to use stylus would be sufficient... just my thoughts
