I've had this exact same problem on 2 of mine - they weren't fixable by Nokia or anyone else.

No software will fix your...

That is a known problem with the N900. Once the problem becomes constant like yours, you're out of luck, unfortunately. There is no known fix to date. Trust me.

That said .. I have always wondered...

if reflashing didn't help, someone else's rootfs will definitely not.
It won't hurt to reflash again as carefully as possible .. flashing both rootfs and emmc if needed.

also, be sure to flash...

a simple reflash should do the trick better than someone else's rootfs. SIM card issues might also simply be failing hardware than software issues.

also, you are aware that BackupMenu doesn't back...

you're right, you can flash the device without the SIM but the CMT error is related to GSM module and putting something between SIM and battery is to keep the GSM module under pressure.

I have an N900 with a no longer functioning GSM module. No amount of flashing I did was able to fix it, if that is the case with yours, you will likely get an error while the flasher is flashing the...

i installed it frm app manager and i did not get any warning. I am using backup menu and does no harmfull as yet to my device!!

BTW there is a thread for backup menu you can confirm there too.

you can ask in this forum too, but there is one problem! . That rootfs,optfs files contiants Private info also ,i.e contact no. Emails passwords etc.

So you have to ask someone's backup files...

as a last resort, one more thing comes in my mind , that there is an application called backup menu.which backup whole system backup (including os i.e rootfs , optfs) so thus i think you can ask...
