My top uses are:
* Web - particularly Facebook, IMBD, BBC news & Scrabulous
* GPS - works a treat for me, your mileage may (literally) vary
* RSS - blogs, news, this forum...
* MP3 / video player...

That explains a lot! I couldn't get the pre-defined connection to work, but when I created my own with apparently the same settings it worked fine. Didn't occur to me that someone at Nokia might have...

They have. But there's a reason (other than laziness) for leaving the fridge plugged in! ;)

The power issue aside, a colleague of mine recently had a major house fire, started by a mobile phone charger. The phone wasn't connected at the time, but the charger was still plugged in.
