On a real linux: chmod --help gives the solution: chmod -R.

But your device does not have a fullblown chmod, it uses busybox really.
So --help does not work, but the -R switch works on my N800 --...

I have updated my N800 to the new OS2007. I have fetched the cifs kernel module from http://handhelds.org/~fanoush/maemo/cifs.N800.2.2006.51-6.tar.gz. This is not up to date with the new kernel....
