I don't know if this is relevant, but I've been using both Opera and Mozilla-based browsers since their early beta stages. Opera has always been lighter on memory use and more responsive in general.

Flash is generally always "playing", whether you see pictures moving around or not. I don't generally see fit to blame the browser for what I see as a Flash problem, be it poorly written applets or an unoptimized/buggy/whatever Flash plugin.

Was Flash performance really better in Opera? As I've said before, I didn't use Opera for long, but I seem to recall Flash not working nearly as well as it does in microB.

But as far as I've understood Opera is phased out in OS2008, so it'll be limited to MicroB (and later, I think) WebKit + whatever.Even though I may be sticking to OS2007 longer than I thought I don't think it'll be forever..

Licensing. It costs money.
If Nokia has a license, I'd imagine it's per hardware, not software.

I'd love to download try and use the new operating system. But the more I read of these posts here and elsewhere on this site the more reluctant I become to switch over. I would much rather have the use of Skype than a better Youtube experience. With the 07 OS version I do have good Skype quality. From the posts here I understand Skype doesn't work with 08. I doubt that this is because of Nokia. Skype seems very slow to make adjustments. Other than that, Opera works fine for me. My N800 hardly ever crashes. I just think the N800 is like a Sports car. When I need a heavy hauler I just move up to the laptop. Anyway, no plans to switch over. I don't have time for the hassles involved in getting it to work after the switch.
