Yes, the line tool is where it's at. What I would really like to see is some sort of zoom function so I can zoom out and see my creation as a whole. But to be honest, if this thing never changed it would still suck up a lot of my time.

Hurray, I am releasing Slysics-0.2.3 today which will be the precursor to the final version that will make it up to extras and downloads.

"Change Log"/Changes:
  • Save and load added (Saving large maps may take some time, wait until the save menu disappears)
  • D-Pad scrolling
  • Direction pointer added
  • Distance counters added
  • Snap to prev line points option added
  • Some bug fixes
  • More stuff I can't recall .
  • World size halved

Btw, I haven't bothered coding the flag manager yet so that doesn't work. Also, if you fall a very long time and reach the end of the world, your game will still crash.

TODO:
  • Fix end world crash bug
  • Make saving the map screenshots faster
  • Clean up the code, make it pretty/better/faster
  • Add world objects (instant accelerators, teleports, etc)
  • More stuff to come...

So, go install it when it gets through the autobuilder in extras-devel and have fun with the new features and old ones , and report bugs/requests for features.

Just for kicks, I decided to make an endless loop for the sled to go around and draw trace lines: (the image is sewed together). The hat stayed stuck to the head so the sled went around and punted the head multiple times :P.

Also, as you can see in the top left, the debug feature which shows some useful information. Should I include this like I did with the distance counters? (Like, do you need to know the velocity?)

I hate to rain on the parade, but I am having some trouble running the program. Everything installs fine but when I try to run it I get nothing. There is a little jump on the load applet bar but nothing after that. Any suggestions?

Hmm, could possibly be a segfault, can you run Sylsics-run from the console?

just installed and when starting from personal menu, it says "excecution failed". can't find Slysics or Slysics-run. only thing that installed was png - files in data and those cpu - executables i think.

I installed the new version from Extras-Devel in the App Manager. Wouldn't run from the menu. When I ran "Slysics" from X Terminal it opened a window, then closed it.
The output from the terminal was
---------
~ $ Slysics
Initializing SDL...
Starting Scene...
Fatal signal: Segmentation fault (SLD Parachute Deployed)
Segmentation fault
-----------

I can confirm the same error on my tablet with the new version. Look forward to playing more of this fun tablet game when this is fixed.

Cheers!

Hmm, alright, fixed the bug, apparently I left an old launch script in the SVN and only fixed it for version 0.1.0, meh, Thanks javispredo . Version 0.2.4 should be up in hours/minutes.

Those who don't want to wait, just change the first line of /usr/bin/Slysics-run from "#!/bin/bash" to "#!/bin/sh"
