I highly suggest using a screen protector. I managed to gouge a deep scratch with a bitten fingernail on my previous N800

Luckily the whole mess of Nokia losing my tablet got me a brand new one.

Can someone please give directions on how to buy this thing? Or is there an English version of the site? I've seen these recommended many times, but I don't even know how to add the bloody thing to the cart.

I think there was another thread on this - do a search.
My solution I found there for my 810 is:
Obtain a sheet of overlay transparency film such as is used for view-graphs. Cut a piece slightly oversize and slip it under the bezel.
Cost - almost nil
Time to obtain - minimal

The second day I was showing my 810 around at work one guy played with the screen and it looked like he had just oiled his car, and my 810 The next day the protector was on.

First of all: The manufacturer doesn't appear to ship beyond Europe. If that's hunky-dory with you, I might give a step by step list on how to order a packet of 3 (2 + 1 for free).

Please also understand that I cannot take any responsibility if, due to my instructions, your credit card is maxed out by some Nigerian con artist or whatever.

I stupidly put some keys in my pocket with my n800 shortly after I got it. I guess I was so used to my 770 I just didnt think about it.

I ended up with multiple small scratches, they are annoying, and not in my text entry field so its still useable.

But I would use one if I had it to do over again. I plan to use on my n810 when I get one

I use screen protectors from pdair.com.

Their prices are reasonable, and the screen protectors are great...

See here for the N770: http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product...oducts_id=3160
and here for the N800: http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product...oducts_id=5477

They are hard protectors, and totally invisible when applied. Also, there are not bubbles when applied...

I just never took off that sticker that came on the screen in the box.

I have tried that too. But the original sticker is very soft - and as a result it was totally scratched 2 days later...

They don't ship abroad - can't probably, as they are a regional 3M contract repackager. The protectors they sell are 3M Vikuiti ARMR200 sheets, which are pretty universally available - the stuff is sold in bulk by 3M to partners that do the packaging in end-user quantities.

Googling for Vikuiti ARMR200 turns up 159.000 hits - you're bound to find some suitable distrubutor there...

They do ship abroad -- just not over that biggish pond to the west of the Old Continent.

Who'd want to anyway? They'd have to charge 5 gazillion dollars for one screen protector, just to break even.
