It may be due to an improperly cut or ill-fitting sim card. Does the phone take a long time to recognize your sim card when turned on? The N9 reception is actually quite good.

Gave the SatNav a spin yesterday and to be honest its a good job I knew where I was going... kept dropping GPS signal and even though it knew the route it kept recalculating.

Was OK on the way back but has left me a little concerned that it will let me down in my hour of need!

Mobile signal has been poor compared to my old Moto Milestone also.

any one have .deb of ftd for N9? ...I currently have c7 and x7 and also ftd installed in both phones so if ftd netmonitor app's .deb is available in public then I can test N9's signal strength capacity,edge/3g test etc in comparison with X7 and C7

Weird thing is I recall reading a bunch of people commenting that GPS was very good for them (PR1.0).
I wonder if it's to do with 1.1, have you updated to it?

I have noticed that when I hold the phone in landscape with both my hands to type, the phone sometimes loses the 3G signal and sometimes even gsm signal or just quickly goes down. This is even when the included case is on.
I leave it on dual mode as the phone holds the signal better than compared with only 3g mode.

If anyone else has some experiences, please share them...
It worrying that so many seem to be having problems with one or more of these four wireless techs.
I've seen some people report great experiences, but far more have reported negative ones.
Then again, I guess people only report when things aren't working as well as they expect/should.

Nah, 'Good' is the best rating. I imagine they didn't go for "excellent, very good, good" etc as they wouldn't want people to know how quickly or not the battery deteriorates.

Just a tip; if you want the life of your battery to last longer, it's better to charge your phone more often, rather than wait until it's nearly empty
