n900 and n9 dsp are almost the same(just higher clock on n9), n9 barely plays 720p and you wont get more than that because it is a physical limitation of the chip, not a software one
you can only hope that a software update will enable you to finally play all 720p videos perfectly, althou i wouldnt hold my breath
and 701 plays everything right now, you dont have to hope for a better future that might not be there

Using the N9 is like taking the scenic route to work every morning. It's nice for a while, but once the novelty wears off you just want to go back to using the motorway, which doesn't have the nice scenery, but is much more productive. It often takes several swipes and some lengthy scrolling to achieve the same thing that only takes one or two taps (or use of a keyboard shortcut) in Maemo5. Then we come to the bugs, the lack of customisation, the relatively poor multimedia performance and so on.
The N9 is for those that know why they want it (usually Swipe UX and shiny design). I could not recommend it to anyone that is on the fence. It can't replace the N900, nor can it compete with the more established smartphones.

Do you think there is a future for the nokia n9 ?...i now own a n900 and they said that it will die eventually but to me it's still very alive..Do you think that will happen with the N9 also..
Because i'm hearing and seeing great things being done with it..

n9 and n900 are two completly different devices, n900 is an pocket computer beast and that is the only reason it has survived so far, there is no replacement for it up to this day, n9 is just another fancy phone that does not offer anything better to an n900 addict
as i see it most of the power users that made all those magical things for n900 wont make a switch to the n9 whose majority of userbase are not "geeks" like in n900's case but "regular" peple that will quicklly swich to the first next shiny thing that is offered to them...

Now you got me thinking...i fracking..Love my N900 the openess the hunderds off usefull apps and the list goes on.
i myself was convinced that the nokia n9 was the next best choice because of the OS (dispite of no support) and the fact that no other phone out there can run the apps that we use on the maemo/meego platform(QT)..
All the smartphones out there are simply not giving me what i need..Freedom if you look at our app store all the great apps we use ar free of charge if you look at a androis or IOS device (jailbreak IOS) you have to pay for alot of not so great apps..
if you can name one device i should really look at wich one would it be ?
