Lots of etailers do this. Speculative sales via preorders of expected models.

The N900 is on NokiaUSA since yesterday for preorder with a free BT-703 headset for $649, and it does NOT have AT&T 3G band (1900 MHz), so I highly doubt that site.

Sorry Guys,
People here in Europe often forget both the customs fee and VAT (sales tax) most countries here in EU have +20% sales tax as well as 4-5% customs fee + shipping, add approx 30%, then that price will not be as cool....

I doubt the n900 is manufactured in the usa, so customs fees and shipping costs also apply.
Taking into account VAT, the n900 is still ~15% cheaper in the states.
Not the usual rip-off (for us europeans) on nokia part this time, but let's see how the price will evolve (I guess that in a short time you'll find it for less than $400, while the european price will stay at 600-650€, depending on country and local VAT rate).

Nokia could e.g throw in a free life time navigation to compensate the ugly price difference...
N900 as day to day phone
N770 for childrens music
