I believe that if you tap in the status area you're given a list of options including changing phone profiles, and a volume slider.

Use xprop to unset the _HILDON_ZOOM_KEY_ATOM atom on the browser window. Pointless, though, IMO.
I have a quick question for those who has an N900.. I saw a video in youtube of a guy demonstrating the N900.. and he was showing how smooth and fast the browser on it.. And he showed a flash video.. and then he tried to higher the volume using the volume buttons on the "top/side" of the N900 but couldn't (even in full screen).. all it did was zoom in and out... So my question is how can you lower and/or higher the volume when playing a video in the browser..
