just that I can ***** to you. I paid what I paid because I wanted to have n900, not for announcing firmware releases beforehand.

Off course you would expect that local mobile shop seller is competent enough to profile you by your needs and find right solution just for you, but at least here in Finland I have quite rarely found sells person on mobile/electronic/it area who can give me answers to my questions. Now days whole area is self service and google yourself. Why not trust everything that product maker says? Because its know fact that they promise more than they can keep? That is just fact because people think and expect it. Customers should demand same kind of results that are advertised so sellers would be more careful with advertisements.

btw. There has been quite many iterations before N900
everyone who has a little experience about modern mobile devices know, that every device with its first batch will be somewhat defective. gradually performance improves when firmware is updated.

please find me every point that nokia promised with n900 but wasn't in 42-11 firmware...

Calling stupid people (by your definition) stupid or school girls doesn't make you any better. Actually you downgrade yourself to same level. Sorry.
wrong. this is more economical statement and it is a fact. plus it doesn't downgrade me at all..

kinda:
fool and his money are soon
parted.
meaning that if you don't know what you are paying 500+ € for is stupidity. and stupidity is inexhaustible resource of human nature so there will be people who use their 500+€ just by looking one web page and/or listening salesman.

You must be kidding - right? Maybe the "promised stuff" is there - but does not work (MfE just as an example)...

You are kidding, right?

A phone that can only dial some numbers sounds to me like something that requires an immediate fix.

But Nokia did not promise that the N900 can dial numbers starting with 7, so maybe the inability to dial such numbers will be the great feature of the new firmware.

Ovi maps is another example. Nokia did not neccessarily lie but just did not mention that it was not complete when advertising GPS navigation. I know people on here knew my self included but someone new to the scene would not. This is seen by the many many posts on here about voice navigation. Just because Nokia arnt lying does not mean that they are not just leaving out important bits and leaving the rest to other users to try and explain through a lot of research that Nokia did not in fact miss sell the device to a lot of people.
The firmware update\non update is another prime example Nokia did not promise it but hinted towards it and left it to other Nokia endorsed websites to pan the fires. To average joe a Admin guy on a page with a Nokia logo is Nokia.

For not acting like a spoiled child? There was no mystery around this device. It's open source because it needs it.

It's a great product for the crowd it was intended.

You've made it abundantly clear this crowd is not you.

Buying a bike when you really wanted a trike and then whining about it, only makes you a fool.

So please go buy a an iPhone and stop with the theatrics.

Yawn. Another person who believes that once a customer pays for the item, he/she should be thankful and the company can act the way the choose. For the short term, maybe, but there are tons of customers out there who don't tolerate this sort of corporate behaviour.

I suggest we split into 2 groups and wrestle naked in oil with the winners being declared 'right' :-)

Please - don't pretend you didn't understood what he said. And please stop explaining what people "really" means. People don't need to be "explained" by you, whatever you are.
