Yeah, is there a USB to N800 charger connector type of thing? That means, we can plug one end to the USB of a laptop and the other end goes into the N800's charging hole plug.

I bought a cheapo battery ($15) from ebay for my then 770 and now use it for my n800. It has literally fell apart. Cheap material. It still holds somewhat of a charge but has never performed like the original nokia battery. I just ordered another battery on ebay for $34 from another ebay seller. He claims his battery is a geniune nokia battery with the nokia hologram. I hope he is right. I'm still going to keep the cheapo for as long as it holds a charge, but from my experience nokia batteries are far better than the imitations found all over ebay.

I have a wireless mouse/keyboard. The mouse came with a USB charging cable that ends in what appears to be a pretty standard "old style" Nokia charging tip. I just tried it with my converter tip and it charges my N800 absolutely normally. It pretty much charges anything that's content with 5-ish volts.

So: yes, any USB cable that has an old or new Nokia-like charger tip on the other end will charge your N800. The N800 appears to have more intelligent (or less stupid, depending on your current stance with Nokia) charging circuitry than the 770 in any case, meaning that it's a lot more tolerant about the juice you're pouring into it.

Yeah, I was not too specific there. The Proporta USB battery plugs into a USB port, but has a series of adapters that fit into the power ports for different electronics. It does not charge into the USB port on the n800, but rather the normal charging port. It's kind of confusing to explain, but I can say that it does work for the n800, and that's the most important thing of all.

Does anyone know of a charger that you can set a battery in to charge while using another one on the n800?

Yes, I bought a charger from Hong Kong on eBay and it works great. I almost never charge using my N800 now.

Here is one unusual battery problem I had which I should mention:

When I bought the charger, I got a battery with it, which was labeled Nokia, not paper wrapped, real authentic plastic. It fit so tightly, that once I couldn't get it out of the N800 without prying and damaging the battery.

So I lost that battery, which I didn't realize I was gettting anyway.

Moral: beware of genuine Nokia batteries! Or ones that look genuine...
