Agreed, could you create a bug for this? However, before creating it, make sure it doesn't already exist in the bugtracker. Creating bugs really is the most effective way to improve the quality of Maemo as a whole.

I just updated with apt-get because no update showed up in application manager... But settings->about still reports old software version.
I think this update didn't perform the /dev/mtd1 update, since osso-product-info shows old version as well.

Is there a way to update /dev/mtd1 so not to have to flash from scratch?

My General, I know about 'rm -fr' - it works better. I even still remember last time then I used 'clri' command ... but I believe that automation of process and simplifying our life is a goal.

Actually NO. More precisely - this definitely would be nice but my call is to have a single interface to application management but not many. 'apt' interface is powerful, but there is 'aptude' for a reason. And Hildon Application manager (+ PackageView, of course) gives (ok, looks like .. gave) some power to GUI application management.

hmm... they renamed Extras in the application catalogs to maemo.org. Any way to change this back?

/etc/hildon-application-manager/catalogues is no help...

In the app manager, click on the catalog and rename it

You can't. In fact, you can't rename or delete any of the pre-installed catalogs from within app manager. Come on now, I'm not THAT daft...

Dargo, do you have one of the pre-installed themes selected or a custom one? Cathy was having the same problem until she switched back to default theme

Ups sorry, I've a different FW version, but that's a bit strange, why on earth the user can't personalize the name of the repositories o_0.
