So I did :
1. apt-get update
2. apt-get install --reinstall mp-fremantle-002-pr"

And it worked - Now about info is correct - I am not sure why I have 002 and you have generic.
Maybe add it to the original post?

Thanks for all the kernel mods guys,
I installed 800 MHz with the transitions.ini, and the phone is very much IPhone like smooth which makes me happy.
This was the only thing left bugging me with the N900 since fMMS because so good.
Now I just need PR1.2 to fix the bluetooth problems, (BH-100), and night mode for the camera and i'll be sleeping like a baby.
Thank you so much for this!!! It fixed my problem with the info as well!!!

I've been using the 125-900 kernel for about three days now, and so far i've seen one unusual thing; sometimes, when i browse the internet on portrait mode, it starts jamming a little.

But that's the only problem i've noticed so far, and don't even know if that's OC-related. No increase in temps, and maybe a little increase in batterylife. And damn, it just feels so smooth

But gonna see if this OC brings up anything unusual, if not, then i'll test out the 1Ghz-kernel! :P

Well there was some command talked about earlier in this topic, to see the temps, but i'd say it's not very reliable.

So i've just been measuring the temps with my hand, and haven't noticed any kinda strange increase. Ofcourse it can get a little hot, if you leave it charging over night, but that's to be expected.

I've been silently reading this thread and admiring everything. The open-ness of the phone, the scalability of both hardware and software on this tremendous device but most importantly - I'm admiring the community. The way that everyone helps each other is really not something you find on every community (I'm mostly talking about the tolerance towards newbies) - that's awesome.

I've been running my n900 on the 900mhz kernel for three days now. Haven't noticed anything unusual. Device runs smoother and <so far> I'm not experiencing any hiccups. One last question that I would like to ask - what are the normal operating temperatures? I checked mine earlier today and it was standing on 27. I think I was checking out either this very thread or facebook while I checked for the heat readings.

But again, this device is so amazing. I'm a heavy linux/unix user for 10 years now and I've never ever thought that I'll have such power in my pocket. I'm so glad I bought the n900 and not the milestone back in November

Agree with Casp3r, awesome community.. I´m on a long vacation in Thailand. And began to read this forum about the N900. And as soon as I get home I will order one for myself. looks like an awesome thing.
