Keep doing what you are, when you can operate it, look into developing if you want.

read as many articles in the forum as you have time for, they're educational.

anyone publishing a maemo for dummies book ? I want a copy if they do

I've installed the kernel-power-setting and now the HealthCheck show's me frequencies from 125MHz to 1150MHz, but I haven't installed a custom firmware. Does this means that I can change the cpu freq without flashing the device with one of those custom firmwares?
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm kind of a rookie in maemo, but I love the n900.

Bakuur: You should really take a look on this http://wiki.maemo.org/Overclocking and other wiki pages.

And especially the Reverting to the Original Kernel part.. If you have installel rootsh and go to the terminal (ctrl+shift+x) and write:
Code:
root
and
Code:
apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher
(press enter key after the commands)

You will be back to normal.

No it wont do anything to your device. if you check below in the HealthCheack you will find that the proccesor speed is 600MHz
as i understand i think you should flash it in order to get higher speeds

Tried to reinstall install the original kernel using the command above but get the error message:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state infomation... Done
Reinstallation of kernel is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.
Reinstallation of kernel-flasher is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.

I am connected to my network before anyone asks, and I can access application manager (and download/install stuff), so are the files missing from the repo or something????

Any thoughts?

Using 1.1, which repos do we need to have enabled? I haven't got dev or testing enabled but I didn't think it would be there? Is it??
