feel the same way, love the device but can't live without the lack of support. Moved to a HTC Desire and very happy (particularly with the choice of Twitter and email apps) but miss the hardware keyboard, video codec support, TV out, Skype integration on the N900. It really is a great device but Nokia need to do something about making sure the device has got the basic apps that everyone uses these days...they can't rely on the community for everyone (and the community are doing a damn good job, they just don't have the time).

The same way that I don't get why people coming to a forum for questions to be answered are met with general disgusting remarks and ownership questions

I am a C++/Qt programmer. Wanted to compile for my n900 the text editor i'm coding (cross-plaform). Oh, wait i can't run it because somebody thought it was wise to update SDK and buildbots(or whatever) with versions of qt that are not yet available....
I want to connect to my university's wifi. FAIL. Someone already reported the bug(certman s*c*s). It is FIXED in bugtracker, but oh, wait, icannot connect anyways because someone thought that user can enjoy bugs while waiting for shiny new features.
Thinking that n900 is mostly open so maybe only modem stuff, 3d and nolo are closed, i try to fix it. Oh noes, i can't -> certman is closed. So i'm asking nokia:wtf do you hide in a plain certificate manager?!

I'm not validating anything. And yes, I could have searched, but by the same token, when I asked (and I did ask, several times), you could have answered. Assuming I even did a search on your name, since the most recent posts show first, I would have had to dig quite a while to find a non-N900 related post.
I've never made disgusting remarks to anyone here asking questions. I've corrected people that were saying things that were patently untrue, or misleading, or representing themselves as an authority to people asking questions and giving false information. That's quite a different thing.
If you search and read my posts, as you seem to want me to do for you, you'll find I've answered several people's questions, quite politely, on several topics where I'm knowledgeable. I've joined in several discussions about changes and new apps, done lots of testing and feedback, and even on occasion had a discussion or two about opinions on how companies should operate. But I've never railed against a person coming into the forum and asking a question.
There's a far cry between answering a question and correcting (or "clarifying") an answer that's misleading or false. And even doing that once or twice generally won't get me going. You have to be quite insistingly negative and repeatedly spreading misinformation to earn my venom. Only 2 or 3 people here have gotten me to that point here.

You know very well that people coming to just ask questions are not treated that way, gerbick.

Personally I think leaping to another device which is far less open and probably will not see an update for a much longer time frame than the N900 will is a bad move. But if that's what the OP wants to do, I wish him luck (which I said in my first post on this thread). I just advised him he may want to hold on to the N900 until he know's he's totally satisfied with his new Android device. It's up to him to decide what's best for him.
