So, would someone explain what the hell is going on. Why can't I update using the Nokia Software updater as it stops every time at 33.6 MB.
Seriously, how hard can this be.

EDIT: Nokia Software Updater is the main single purpose application intended for upgrading the Nokia N900 and that one fails every time. If that is because the user first has to clean up his apps, then talk about epic fail!
You are so right! Exactly. How hard can this be..!

Are you being ironic? If so, then maybe you could share your tremendous expertise exactly on what the user should do and expect to get a clean upgrade of the 1.2 firmware.
And I prefer not using any command line flashers or strange workaround procedures. This should work using nokia's main upgrade software intended for any customer.

same problem here

stops at 33.6 and I live in Denmark too, but I don't think that has to do with anything. Gonna take me a loong time to uninstall all apps. Stupid nokia

Hey, in such case, don't forget to do the backup BEFORE uninstalling the apps. Otherwise you won't be able to use the backup utility to restore them.

just uninstall some games like Tuxrace, Brainparty, Gltron or Openarena, it seems one or maybe many of them make problems for OTA update

But it still puzzles me. From what I understood the Nokia Software Updater should not rely on what is currently on the device, but reflash the full operating system, right? And by that I DON'T mean the MyDocs folder and stuff because that's in a different flash.

It shouldn't matter if one got 1 byte left of rootfs or any strange apps, it should replace the god damned thing (ok, being drastic, but you know what I mean).

I tried updating from the app manager but before i can install the update it says it has to be done using the NSU on the computer but that fails..
