Now I have finally installed packages but what the heck: Kilikali won't play oggs. Not surprised about this: Canola either won't play oggs (too much to hope), Mediaplayer starts playing but only 20 seconds and then switch to next song. What was the main goal for this support packages? Before this Kilikali played oggs just fine and was only player that I used for oggs. Has anyone noticed Kiliplayer to stop playing oggs? Seems like it's time to get back where I was before this ogg-support package, oh boy this is sometimes too complicated.

I agree, it should be simpler than this. Unfortunately, I don't have the answer.

I did install mplayer (and kmplayer a GUI front end) which does play ogg vorbis (even without the ogg vorbis libraries, I think it is statically linked in). And that is what I am using to play Ogg Vorbis. A simple solution.

I hope this helps,

Craig....

I was hoping that the packages were going to allow ogg to work with the default media player, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Thanks, I'll try that later. This is what I did: uninstalled the Mogg packages and reinstalled the previous ogg-vorbis support so Kilikali is working again. I'm using Kilikali with Mediatomb and it's been easy to use also. Mplayer is installed on my N800 and I will try that also so thank you for pointing that to me. It's good to know you can have support.

I had some issues also trying to install Mogg. I had to uninstall ogg-support to be able to install Mogg. So now I have Ogg played in Kagu but no longer with Exaile ... what a mess !! Can someone at Nokia just add a standard ogg support for all applications (starting with osso-media player) to fix all this ?

My question now is : is it possible for me to have both Mogg and Ogg-support installed at the same time (so that I can still have both players running Oggs) ?

Thanks for your help !

The default media player seems to have hardcoded mime types it supports, so it's not trivial to add ogg to that list.

I'll try harder with the OS2008.

Not really. They both install the same Gstreamer plugin.
