In all seriousness, guys, I knew this pointless capacitive-resistive argument was heading toward nastiness. No one's gonna win it. Table it.

Nails have been the only way I can type on capacitative screens without a keyboard. If I ever try to use my fingers on a resistive or cap. touch screen I always mistype words.

One of the reasons why if I decide to get a device without a hard keyboard, it needs to have swype lol.

um who says I haven't? and why the hostility?
The very fact that you need a large area is what makes it inaccurate but again your nails do nothing they will not be the centre point.

I gave myself super tiny (and short) cramped hyperlinks, in portrait, zoomed out on a 900*600 res screen as challenges. And I could click every one using my fingernail edge only with my finger in a horizontal position. I can't always do this with the fleshy part of my finger.

Its just that I used experience right here right now and you didn't ask how I did it. Anyway I apologize for my annoyance.

Attached is an example page GSMarena.com as I saw it and I clicked the tiny model makes on the very left at random picks.

welcome to finland in mid jan - feb. I can accomodate you if you only show how easily you handle simple answering to call while taking a walk outside.

you might get your fingers amputated if you dont fiddle with "glove off glove on" -thingie and those capacitive gloves don't look so warm compared to good mittens with what I can use resistive touchscreen for simple operations.

Eh.. I always found the glove argument interesting. But that's because the gloves I wear in the Winter are snow shoveling/skiing gloves. Having a resisitive touchscreen in the blizzards earlier this year didn't seem to make a difference. I still couldn't touch the screen easily, nor use the stylus (again big big gloves) lol.

Why? Does it fix memory leaks?

Agreed.

Yes, but your finger is a conductor, but your nail isn't.

just tested short trimmed nail it does not work without minimum contact from finger at same time, so using nail is a myth on capacitive

Yet I'm also talking from experience from both using a capacitive phone and being a physicist.
You don't seem to understand what is causing your percieved increase in accuracy but it's not the shape of your nails pointy or otherwise. It's the pointy flesh so cut your nails into a pointy stylus, a flat, a shape of a unicorn, or remove your nail altogether it makes no difference as I said your nails are not doing anything other than providing the space preventing you from flating your flesh against the screen. For a much larger contact area than that required but all of which doesnt matter anyway because only a point will count a point which is harder to guess when you don't know the exact position under your flattened flesh. I will reiterate your nails are doing nothing,no matter their shape.
