I ordered some things through Amazon and clicked to have some sort of notification via my N900 using cellular. I don't remember the exact name of what I clicked but it showed up as an option. It was something like "mobile tracker" but I don't see it now.

So when the package was out for delivery, I received a text message saying the delivery guy was nearby AND mappero opened with it tracking the location of the delivery guy. I was amazed - I could see that the delivery guy was about a block away. Later, I received another text message when the package was delivered and signed for. Has anyone else used this feature? I'm not sure exactly how mappero could track the delivery guy. If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it.

Interesting. This is what Amazon says: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...deId=200378960

But there doesn't seem to be any location info in there. Did you have a web url in your text message? And did Mappero do live tracking or just a single position?

Unfortunately, I wasn't paying much attention. When I saw I had a text message, all I remember doing is clicking on it. It took a while to open (I was wondering why) and then I noticed mappero had started. I thought at first I had somehow clicked it. Mappero showed the real time position of the delivery guy - he/she was in a building across the street at the time I received the text message. I had tracking on and it continuously updated and typically showed a speed of a couple of miles per hour. When I go to my Amazon account and look at the order now, it only indicates "text tracer" or something like that. I could swear that originally it said something like "mobile tracer." It already had my N900 phone number entered - all I did was click to enable. This same option showed up a few days earlier on another order but I had not enabled it. I'm wondering if mappero was receiving info via the Internet (although the gps symbol showed that gps was on).
