@geneven - yes you are right about the leaked version problem. but a lot of people upgraded to the leaked PR1.2 and then downgraded to the original PR1.1. this is what caused the problem and for that the driver was supposed to be installed seperately. im saying this bcz this did happen to me and thats how i fixed my problem.

@bennyfreeman - update through air is something different than flashing your phone. i would recommend getting the lates vanilla emmc file and the latest PR1.2 firmware and then flash it. remember you first flash the firmware and then the emmc but in between them you dont have to reboot your phone.

im off to bed now so if this doesnt help them i will try to help you out tomorrow. best of luck mate!

Have you tried flashing from the flasher, rather than OTA? Then you can choose your version as well.

I have had this issue a few times. I have bought a few units second hand and had to flash them as no IMEI number is reported in the about screen and sim card has the red strike.

Quick flash to latest firmware has fixed it everytime.
One required both files including the emmc to be flashed.

mrmoosehead is right. You need to flash the phone back to a factory fresh state using the maemo flasher and choosing the latest firmware from the link he has provided for you. That is the way you need to go for sure.
