for all those who are complaining.. i have the lkd 1.3 installed and i dont noticed anything new neither did any application stopped working (and i am using a lot of apps) however, i would also recommend you to wait for the real deal. i have 2 N900 so if one breaks, i have a backup device, you not.

I suggest even the most adventurous guys here, not to try this...

Of course, if you value your N900, as someone else already said.

Oh if you do try it, when you flash back you have to flash eMMC too. i had temporary problems with 3g connection when flashed back. I actually flashed it to PR1.1.1 first and then upgrade to PR1.2 and 3g connection works again

Speculation on what PR1.3 brings for changes has been surprisingly low…well let’s shake that up a bit. In addition to the 100+ bug fixes, some UI elements have been updated, as well as an apparently new driver to interact with the PowerVR SGX530 GPU, here are some of the user-noticeable changes that should come with PR1.3;

MicroB (browser), Modest (e-mail) and hildon-desktop (desktop UI) have been updated and will provide a much faster experience, less glitching and reduced process pegging.

Universal Contact Search has improved response time for displaying results.

Audio playback no longer causes abnormal high processor usage, and pause/resume playback after a call is much more predictable and works as it should. In addition, the mediaplayer widget ‘play’ button now works.

Portrait mode transition is faster for all applications that support rotation. Feels “constant” and much more deliberate.

Accounts being forced to error-offline during new network connection has been fixed.

Several fixes to Mail for Exchange. Unknown if Google syncing has been addressed.

You can now enter a lowercase letter at the beginning of a sentence.

Camera and image browsing has less “chop” and stuttering. Feels much more fluid.

Delay added to screen unlocking during alarm or phone call. Reduces unwanted input.

This alone would serve to improve the N900 user experience so much it's not funny, assuming the fixes are worth a damn. Why it took so long to get this far is a mystery. Hell it's my primary complaint, since they're the primary culprits in every "almost-pitched-it-against-the-wall" moment.

Almost makes me wonder if gprof was ever used.

Well, I would love to see this all summarized somewhere. I would say that the overwhelming preponderance of warnings were hysterically overstated and the disasters they predicted never came true. I suppose someone could have said something accurate at one time or another...

Just as an aside, I felt that the tone of warnings about leaked PR1.2 and the tone of warnings about overclocking were very similar. In both cases, most people with sense ignored them and benefited as a result. Enough time has elapsed now that it's pretty clear that few if any disasters ensued.

hope these two makes it possible to scroll webpages without delay and the potrait mode makes it easier to answer fast without pressing reject.
