ya it has a WI-FI connection u can go any where and u still be connected, i did see a connection many times but there is no luck..

all what we did is we tried to connect it to the server the first time we made search and found a connection tried but it didnt work second time asked us for key web but the system in college they dont use web key, i dont exactly know how the system runs there,,,

everyone said its a weird problem i belive that there is a way to connect it its just matter of time and knowing how??

I don't know about yours, but in our university we have to register the device (MAC address) first. And non-XP/Mac devices can only log on to a hidden, unencrypted network.

when i select the Wi-fi bottom on the top right side of the screen it shows me that its during connections and after that it ask me to connect to the web key, i asked the electritions and they said its not in there system they use different thing i wouldnt know wat is it, but after that the sign in the top right corner it change turn to kinda orange with a question mark(??)

for the computer runs ok if u want a wireless they will do it straight away without asking..
oh ya my self and him were in his office while we were searching for the netwark there is some kinda ystem they have in linux that if any one tries to connect it will show in the system even if u get fail connection and we werent getting that for soe resone as well..

is there some kinda programme i have to download or something let me know wat u thunk guys please, haha i badly wanna get this thing connected in the college...

am sorry ch8xy dont understand wat u mean exactly but if i had to regester the mac address 1st i dont think the electretion didnt know that him self....

From what I understand it sounds like your university network is open, probably with some from of web based login. But if it is open you should not be asked for a key when connecting. when you first bring up the wi-fi searching window, you should wait for about a minute and let it search twice for access points, and make sure you are taping on the correct name of the access point your school uses, my school had lots of 'private' lab networks. If you are getting a little world with a question mark over it, that is cause something is wrong, i.e. no ip assigned, passkey bad.
you might install IPHOME to make sure you are getting an IP

i was talking to the man who was trying to connect it, he tried different things that he was explaining it to me but i didnt understand wat he was saying it was too complicated, anyhow he couldnt connected, he gave up and he hand the 770 back to me...
he says that its not showing in his screen control that the 770 is picking up the connection for some reason,,why?? dont know!!!

Electrition i might pick the wrong word, all wat i mean is the person who fix computers in the college and repare them thats his job making connections as well....

i forgot to mention that i've been told by him as well that, if i could maybe get the OS 2007 for the 770, but i think that needs flshing and am not ready to risk it..

Does this college have any document or web page that explains how to connect to the wireless network? If you can point us to the URL or copy and paste it into a post here, we might be able to give better advice.

u see i cant hook up to the wirless or to the wi-fi in the college by myself no matter wat is it that u wanna hook up, labtop, pda, mobiles, any thing u have to take it to the technicians and they'll do everything for u then they send us an email saying that everything is done, but i was talking to the technician today and he was trying again to connect it but there is no hope he can do it, he said to me that he has no idea wat is the problem.
u see once the technicians wanna hook a wierless they have some kind of system that it can show who hooked up to the net or not, and once u hook they will see ur IP number and the Address but everytime he try do it he cant see anything coming up on his screen which he cant figure out what is the reason,,
i will send him an email trying to tell him to explin for me more about the system and how its running, and if he replay i'll copy the email and i'll paste it here just to let u all know wat am on about...
