I love rotation, works great on my 770! Nice to know that I need to either make a right or left with out manually rotating my 770. I don't recall if its on by default, but remember you can turn it off if you don't like it.

On a different note, I think we need a bug/feature thread to separate bug/features from users asking general questions.

I know from a feature request it would be nice to be able to adjust the brightness of the screen from within maemo mapper. Driving last night as day transitioned into night I had to lower my brightness which is a pain to do with the stylus while driving. I like clicking the menu button and then using the D-Pad.

In addition to making sure that "POI" is checked in the "View | Show" menu, you may also want to increase your "POI Zoom" level, in the "POI" tab of the Settings dialog.

Unfortunately, Maemo Mapper can't control the volume of flite.

I would like to know if there is a link we can use that shows you how to use all the features of this software? I have used it some but feel there is more to it than what I know. I am still learning how to use the POI's and other features.

Please advise.

Thank you.

flite volume is fine. I thought more of a joint effort between maemo mapper and kagu (or other media players): kagu could offer a method to pause/resume via dbus and maemo mapper could use it.
(In fact I think kagu already does: browsing the source I saw that it reacts to some dbus signals and a reference to this thread, so this should be generic for any media player)

well, that doesn't seem to be fully implementer, however kagu has a fifo in /home/user/.kagu/fifo and if you send it the string "pause" it will toggle pause on and off (the problem being that if it is already paused it will resume playing instead of pausing ).
It also accepts a status command, but it doesn't tell if it is paused or not, just the name of the file currently playing.

Ok, heres an interesting problem, completely caused by me not paying attention. I accidentally deleted the POI database and now I cannot recreate it. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling but I get the same error upon startup that it cannot find the database.

Any suggestions? Please?

I had a similar problem and it seemed the only way to fix it was to shut down and reboot. I actually had to do that twice, strange, maybe a processes was running that wouldn't close correctly on its own.

not sure if anyone is having this problem, but recently mapper starts fine, then takes longer than usual to get GPS fix. It then gets the fix and freezes about 1sec. later. I've tried everything, I'm considering reinstalling. Any ideas?
