The Apple A4 is alleged to be using a Cortex-A9. But until Apple officially detail what is in it it's all just speculation - I still wouldn't be surprised to find out it's a PowerPC
One thing is for sure it's definitely not an ARM9 (that's a Nokia 770 class CPU!)

hmm, that may be the thing here. Nokia and microsoft are used to making one part of the equation, apple have always been doing "everything"...
