The front webcam could be used/tested with the application mirror which could be found in Maemo Extras. For now, AFAIK, is the only way to use it.

Simply hold the click on the item you'd like to rename and the cascade menu will popup. The first voice of the menu should be rename.

mplayer is the real media player, but it comes without a GUI (Graphical User Interface), so if you want to use it, you have to use XTerm and command it (STOP, PLAY, FF, REW) through keyboard key....
