Re: I.T.T. site useless on the Tablet

In any case, it is just a matter of a vBulletin template and CSS, there is no secret to it - if anybody really suffers that much, he could easily roll a new layout and donate it...

Re: Factory sticker ruining my screen protector

Stylus screens are designed to survive the supplied stylus for the estimated type and time of use - they don't really need a screen protector, and among my entire collection of Palms, mobiles and...

Re: Multiple program instances. Delete everything in filesystem then reflash. Good Id

Of course it does happen on Linux, and anywhere else for trhat matter - forking/IPC or threading are the standard way of handling asynchronous tasks in a multitasking environment.

YMMV whether it...

Re: Freedom Keychain GPS

Unless you happen to carry your keys in your outer coat pocket, and place them on the dashboard whenever driving a car, "just leave it on the keys" is not gonna happen, it you want reasonable...

Re: Should I allow a full charge when I first open the N810?

The calibration cycle required on NiMH quick charger equipped items does not apply to Li cells. At the very worst, you might get a bad estimste of battery lifetime during the first cycle, if you...

Re: Has the time come from some "new user control" ?...

The vBulletin I set up some time ago had a per-forum setting of permissions based on the users post count - probably even without needing a hack, as I did not install any hack, and the software...

Re: Has the time come from some "new user control" ?...

I consider it useful to restrict new users to opening new threads in a suitable subset of forums (maybe Newbie and Troubleshooting), to limit the amount of stray off-topic threads. But if they can't...

Re: Latest stable OS2007

You haven't ever seen the bug list for some major software product. Try the Firefox bugzilla for starters, proceed to the Linux kernel, and if you aren't shocked enough to give up on computing, go on...

Re: WiFi Doesn't Work After Updating to Latest OS2006

Have you upgraded to a pre-N router, or has some neighbour done so within the past three months? Many of those will jam the IT series as well as many other 802.11g devices.

Re: After Flashing with OS2008 cannot install or update anything!

Somebody will... But YMMV as to why. I haven't had any problems today.

Now that is a plain packaging error. Official Nokia supported parts of the system (and map is one of them) are protected...

Re: H.264 support in OS2008. How ?

As of now, mplayer certainly can't do DSP accelerated H.264 playback - and it won't any time soon unless the internal media player grows a shared OMAP DSP H.264 library. Writing your own takes time,...

Re: GPS performance

Can't be a reason for the long TTF on the N810, unless the gpsdriver already got updated between the N810 release and N800 OS2008 beta - on the N800 with LD3-W, the TTF is reasonably fast.

Re: Web-browsing speed?

Wikipedia and Google are fast - close to desktop rates. Amazon isn't - and ITT is certainly stretching the limits, but then it is a page with an almost infinite number of elements to be rendered.

Yes - go to a magnification covering the entire area to be downloaded, select the Zoom tab in Manage Maps, choose the magnifications to download (don't use ridiculous values - besides usability...

Re: wpa_supplicant for OS2008

Re: Almost white screen

WSOD, positively so if it fully boots up and plays its boot sounds while the screen stays blotchy white. A few people have reported their 770 hanging in a reboot loop without ever reaching the...

Re: Wanted: 4.5" x 2.5" BT keyboard

That's merely a relabelled Freedom Mini. These are all over the place. A bit clunky, but IMHO better to handle than its thinner successors, as it still has got calculator style keys.
