And what happens on the N900 when you try do this?

IIRC you're supposed to get a usb icon on the screen indicating it's waiting for flasher.

Alternatively do the other method:

* Cables disconnected, N900 off.
* Remove battery from N900.
* Start flasher on PC
* Insert cable
* insert battery

it happened to me too but what i did was simply take out the mmc card out and restart >,<

After a few tries this method seems to have worked, it is flashing anyways, weather or not it solves the original issue remains to be seen. I'll edit upon completion.


edit: Was able to flash, and run emmc, however the phone still wont fully power on. I do get a step further though. It gets to what I'm assuming is a loading screen. It is a black background with 5 circles about 1/3 up from the bottom of the screen that light up one after another. Then it reboots itself again.

There is one other approach that MAY help using flasher-3.5. And in particular, having ssh access is a BIG help. I advise anyone doing anything edgy with this phone to do so.

Get phone connected and into usb mode. Test (as root if need be):
Next, put phone in R&D mode
Then disable lifeguard
Reboot phone and unplug usb
Now, with lifeguard suppressed you just may get onto your phone although there may be instability, as lifeguard does what it does for reasons. Nonetheless, you might be able to enable networking and the ssh server (if not already enabled by default). Using "top" may help identify what is screwing around, but more usefully you may be able to reverse whatever you did to cause the bloopsie.

Equally useful, is using ssh and recovering desired files via "scp" or "sftp" (google)

Has helped me in the past and again today.

You may also want to try to suppress the watchdog daemons --set-rd-flags=no-omap-wd, --set-rd-flags=no-ext-wd...
