yes they that's why they brought the s60v3 platform which was a way modern os and MADE FOR NON TOUCH DEVICES. and no symbian touch devices untill 2008.
also that article explains why maemo and meego devices couldn't be highlighted as much as symbian and the delays. because of a crazy inner conflict. because of nokia can't get it's shite together. you disproved your claims with an article that you put.
