Re: Mupen64Plus emulator
It may not be the same, but I wonder if using the N900's gyro sensors might make it just as usable and enjoyable.
I mean seriously: Your friends are touting their big name phones and you walk up...

Re: Maemo, What's the Carrier's Argument?
I was not able to find the article I was looking for, but I did find this: http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/05/nokia-says-itll-have-lte-devices-by-2010-verizon-partnership-i/
It's interesting,...

Re: Maemo, What's the Carrier's Argument?
I haven't been able to find a link, but I remember seeing a link to a graph published by Verizon a few months ago which outlined that they expected that with the advent of LTE and it's gradual...

Mupen64Plus emulator
Looks like the N900 might eventually get the ability to play N64 games using the Mupen64 emulator compiled for ARM. Apparently, the big hold up at the moment is a lack of OpenGL ES drivers:...

Re: How can *you* help getting Maemo 5 in shape
There was a discussion a while back about all of this. I'll use the example of Maemo mapper which was brought up a page back or so. But, Nokia has basically been so discreet with what will be...

Re: N900 specs revealed
The problem with that email correspondence could be the fact that the next device isn't going to be called N900. The N900, could be a concept for the next tablet device or it might not be. Perhaps...

Re: Mer 0.12 released
I've tried Mer on my Flash and on the SD card. The SD card version is a bit faster, but the flash version is usable. I didn't do any real tests but it seemed that I mostly noticed the speed...

Maybe not: http://www.linux-magazine.com/online/news/kernel_2_6_29_arrives_btrfs_fastboot_wimax_and_mode_setting This wby no means guarantees we'll ever get WiMAX to work, but it probably makes it...

Re: swap and Mer installation questions
1.) Turning on swap should help make your system run better if you are in the habit of running multiple programs simultaneously. I don't think that running the OS off of the sdcard will make it run...

When you make a deb package you will need to create several files. The files tend to be kept in a folder called "debian" located inside the folder that configure and make files are in for the...

Re: any way to uninstall mer?
I'm not quite sure what you mean. Mer isn't installed into Maemo, so you can simply remove or reformat the drive that Mer is on and you can use that drive for whatever you'd like after that.

Re: Enlightenment (e17) on Ubuntu/Mer
FRZ: iirc, I think the last time I used Mer 0.9 image, I simply didn't do a sudo apt-get upgrade which avoided the problematic package upgrades.
If you get the chance to reinstall Mer and Mer...
