thanks xomm, you are extremely helpful, again! However, it's pity that one cannot once and forever disable that red light. Once disabled with Live Focus, it lights up again during the next record...

ah, that's where it's hidden. Just tried to use it but from the first glance it looks a bit weird and complicated. If it's the only way to disable the red light then I'll need to invest some time...

xomm, you are awesome!!! just added the extras testing repo and fetched the live focus app! now going to figure how to use it and where exactly it installed itself - not yet found...

This is actually a great tip, I installed and used this app to disable the red LED during the recording of videos... BUT I was talking about desabling the red light on the BACK SIDE of the device...

Installed Fremantle Extras and Fremantle Extra-devel. The Fremantle Extra-devel cannot be fetched though (some repo's server problem). Couldn't find the installation link for the Fremantle Extras...

holly crap, I went to this page (http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_extras-testing_free_armel/lfocus/0.528-4/) and downloaded the lfocus_0.528-4_all.deb file to the device....
