Re: Need translators to evaluate transifex.net

We are done with the evaluation, but you can still help with the translations. I'm always happy to see new languages supported.
Have a look at the following link and see if you have anything to add:...

Re: Java for Maemo 5

I agree. In addition, most internet banks need java support. No Java - no money, no money - no fun. Java is a must, at least if the N900 is to be a "mobile computer".

Re: Java for Maemo 5

JavaME doesn't add anything to a browser. If you want support for java applets you probably want JavaSE.

Re: [Maemo 5] If this is Linux, why is there is no office package?

Of course openoffice.org allows exporting to pdf, and editing spreadsheets. Wait for the new and improved version from Qole - he's now experimenting with running openoffice and whatnot in a separate...

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls

And I agree that Vitaly is doing a great job being available and responding to our concerns. It just has not made a change yet in my ability to access email. And that is the bottom line.

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls

Absolutely I would press for change. You and I just have different methods.

My point here is that Vitaly is bending over backwards, putting in personal time here to listen to complaints and...

Re: [Maemo 5] If this is Linux, why is there is no office package?

While I'm not as desperate as the OP and I'm quite willing to be patient while someone works this out (and I'd even pay if the someone were dataviz) I'd loudly second the request for a basic office...

Actually a lot of the complaints you have actually is working in Maemo 5 (and I imagine would in 6) in some fashion already... Abiword and Gnumeric for example I know are being run - I just can't...

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls

This is exactly the same as how I use my calendar. And this is why I'd some much like to see this feature somehow implemented in N900 and MfE. And quite often one makes these private appointments...

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls

That's sad - I thought the "protrait mode" and the 3 SIM card bug were anounced to be seen before xmas. And of course I hopped to see some MfE updates/fixes with the release also.
Hm - then we have...

Re: JAVA on the N900 is possible!

I'm not sure you're helping there - most n00bz won't have ssh server installed & configured on their N900!

You'd be better copying the archive straight onto the N900 (connect via USB and choose...

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls

The reason is that there are certain configuration settings server-side which have to be set correctly for MfE Maemo to work.
Especially the "provisioning" feature is a hindrance for many. This...

Re: Mail for Exchange (MfE). Blame me here, pls

Point is taken.

Just small comment. N900 does not have java and MMS inside. Nobody cares.
N900 has MfE inside. With limited functionality (compared with other Nokia phones). Everybody...
